The NewsBoy Cap is a casual-wear cap similar in style to the flat cap. The NewsBoy Hat Sometimes also referred to as the: Baker Boy Cap, Apple Cap, Eight Panel, Jay Gatsby (from The Great Gatsby), Fisherman's Cap and Lundberg Stetson. The Newsboy Cap has the same overall shape and stiff peak in front as a flat cap, but the body of the NewsBoy Hat is rounder, fuller, and paneled with a button on top, and often with a button attaching the front to the brim.
The same NewsBoy Cap style, very similar to a beret, was popular in Europe and the United States in the late 19th and early 20th centuries among both boys and adult men. As the name suggests, it is now associated with newspaper boys, and it is sometimes associated with wealthy golfers as well.
Although traditionally a men's cap, the NewsBoy Hat has recently seen a resurgence as it has become popular with affluent women & fashion houses this decade, primarily due to the sophistication of their Newsboy block structure and design. David Beckham the most famous person to have championed the NewesBoy Cap in recent years.
