After years in the making it is finally here (and after teasers and trade show shots) , the DC Shoes x SE Bikes PK Fixed Gear bicycle. The bike is strictly limited to 1,250 pieces per colorway worldwide. Following on the heels of Crooks & Castles’ and The Hundreds’ collaborative bikes with SE Racing, DC Shoes is proud to introduce the PK Ripper Fixed Gear Bike third installment in DC’s co-branded project with the seminal bike label all designed to embrace the heritage of the brand and the sport. This time around DC translated the classic PK Ripper BMX directly onto a fixed gear body, blending old school nostalgia with modern performa. With their successful collaboration on the PK Ripper a while back, this full sized fixed gear bicycle is another milestone for the two companies. This blend of old school BMX and a modern fixed gear bike not only takes its cues from the PK Ripper BMX construction which originally appeared in the late '70s, the DC x SE will be available in a classic ball burnished finish with blue accents as well as stealth looking matte black. Using 6061 aluminum floval tubing on its frame with chromoly fork, it will be an indestructible bike for the trick minded. The Landing Gear fork and Looptail read end is also incorporated into the design. Equipped with Oury Mountain Grips, SE Lightning Blitz Seat with bottle opener, Velocity Deep V wheels, Vittoria Rubino Pro and other quality goods, this is a well set up bicycle
This blend of old school BMX and a modern fixed gear bike not only takes its cues from the PK Ripper BMX construction. DC and SE Racing first joined together in 2007 for their exclusive limited edition project “30 Years of Radness.” The project honored 30-plus years of BMX history, and DC and SE Racing celebrated with a re-release of the PK Ripper bike in its original aesthetic for an exclusive limited edition quantity. In 2008, DC and SE Racing joined forces once again with the release of the DC x SE Racing 24” Quadangle. The Quadangle, or the Quad Looptail as it was known, was a 1980’s freestyle classic, and for the second collaboration DC and SE Racing re-released the BMX bike in for the first time ever, in a 24” version the same classic frame.Inspirations for the PK Ripper Fixed Gear bike‘s design aesthetic stem directly from the original DC x SE Racing PK Ripper collaboration.
