The story behind Herschel Supply Co began in the early 1900’s, in the town of Wick, Scotland. A wooden barrel maker by the name of Peter Cormack, and his wife loaded the possessions of their cottage ready for the long trip across to Canada. The Canadian government of the time was encouraging families to immigrate by offering the families land to farm, to support the growth of the country. They resided in the town of Herschel

Over 100 years later the re-location to Canada, Annie and Peter's great grand children remain at the heart of manufacturing. Instead of barrels, backpacks and bags are now the staple choice. Herschel Bags was started with the goal of bringing well-designed quality built products to market. The inspiration behind the Herschel Backpack brand is drawn from American heritage, mountaineering, fashion and world travel.

Herschel reinvents old classic bag styles with modern fits, shapes and feels coupled with a with fine degree of detail.
