Converse Trainers

Converse shoes was founded by Marquis M in 1908. Converse opened the Converse Rubber shoe Company in Malden, Massachusetts USA. The history of Converse trainers was originally as a rubber shoe manufacturer, offering winter footwear for women, men and children. Only two years later Converse was manufacturing 4,000 pairs of Converse shoes every day, although it wasn't until 1912, when the company first started producing canvas tennis shoes. During the 1917 season, basketball was revolutionised by the introduction of the first performance basketball trainers, the Converse All Star shoe.

By the mid 30s Chuck transformed the basketball world once again by inventing the modern a stitch less leather ball providing genuine bounce. Not to forget the Converse Jack Purcell shoes, by the time he lent his name to his signature badminton shoe in '35, Jack Purcell had won five consecutive Canadian championships and been announced the world badminton champion. Jack Purcell trainers today retain the legacy of its namesake and the feel of his sport in their design and branding.
